Many developers and users can be found on freenode IRC network. PLD uses mainly two channels - #pldhelp for users and #pld for developers (the latter requires you to register at freenode nickserv to be able to speak on channel).

Note that both channels exist also on IRCNet network. Both networks are cross-linked and all messages sent to channel on one network are automatically forwarded to its mirror on the other network (with some exceptions).

Irssi users may be interested in forwardfix.pl script (available in irssi-script-forwardfix package) that makes those cross-linked channels visible as one).
